The 68th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with Nigerian acts earning recognition across major categories—further underscoring the country’s growing influence on the global music scene.

Burna Boy leads the Nigerian contingent with two nominations. He is nominated for Best African Music Performance for Love and Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness, reinforcing his status as one of Africa’s most consistent Grammy contenders.

Davido also returns to the Grammy stage with With You featuring Omah Lay, which earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.

Ayra Starr picked up another Grammy nod for Gimme Dat featuring Wizkid, also nominated in the Best African Music Performance category. Wizkid, through the same collaboration, adds yet another nomination to his already decorated Grammy history.

Omah Lay completes the list of Nigerian nominees with his feature on Davido’s With You, marking another significant milestone in his career.

In a historic development, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti will receive a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, becoming the first African artist to be honoured in the category. The award will be presented at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony on Saturday, January 31, 2026, alongside global music icons including Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Cher, and Paul Simon.
