
Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised two armed terrorists and recovered weapons during a tactical operation in Ondo State.
The operation, conducted on February 14, 2026, took place along the Akunu–Auga Road, with troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base Auga.

Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 61 rounds of ammunition, three mobile phones, a jackknife, torchlight, suspected illicit drugs, charms, and ₦39,000 in cash, along with other personal effects.
The Nigerian Army described the operation as a demonstration of its commitment to denying criminal elements freedom of movement and protecting lives and property across Ondo State.
The Brigade pledged to continue aggressive clearance and exploitation operations, intensify patrols along criminal corridors, and strengthen collaboration with security agencies and local communities to maintain a secure environment.
Members of the public were urged to provide timely and credible information, as community cooperation remains crucial to ongoing efforts to eliminate criminal activity in the state.
