Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery at private off-campus hostels of students of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.

The spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, said the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

In a statement, Abutu explained that operatives from the Iworoko Police Division acted swiftly after receiving a distress call from students in Iworoko, where suspected robbers had broken into hostels and stolen mobile phones.

According to him, the arrested suspects—Abdulraman Abdulmumini, 26, and Abdulsalam Oseni, 31—have confessed to the crime and provided information about other gang members who are still at large.

Abutu added that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover stolen items.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade, urged members of the public to support law enforcement agencies with credible information to help tackle criminal activities in the state.
