The memo announced the exit of two cabinet members, Wale Edun and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, with their replacements already named.

Edun, who served as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has been directed to hand over to Taiwo Oyedele, who now assumes the role. Oyedele previously held the position of Minister of State in the ministry.

Additionally, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as ministerial nominee and minister-designate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Dangiwa has been instructed to hand over to the Minister of State in the ministry pending Darma’s confirmation.

All handover processes are to be completed on or before the close of business on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening cohesion and synergy in governance, as well as improving economic delivery in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda. The move is in accordance with constitutional provisions, and appreciation was expressed to the outgoing ministers for their service, with best wishes extended for their future endeavours.
