The Lagos State Police Command has opened a full-scale investigation after a suspicious package containing two rounds of live ammunition was delivered to the residence of First Bank Managing Director, Oluwasegun Adebiosu.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, confirmed the development on Tuesday, June 23, during a briefing at the command headquarters.

According to him, the incident occurred on May 7 when an unidentified dispatch rider delivered an envelope to Adebiosu’s home in Lagos. Security personnel at the residence received the package and later passed it on to the bank chief.

“Upon opening the envelope, the First Bank Managing Director discovered two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition concealed inside,” Fatai said, noting that no letter or identifying information was included.

He assured that the command is treating the case as a serious security threat.

“A thorough investigation is actively underway to unmask the identity of the dispatch rider, trace the source of the ammunition, and determine the motive behind this threat,” the commissioner added.
