David Alaba has reached a verbal agreement to join Serie A club Udinese as a free agent following his departure from Real Madrid.
The Austrian defender became a free agent after his contract with the Spanish giants expired this summer.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Alaba has agreed personal terms with Udinese, with the Italian club now expected to complete the formalities before the transfer is officially confirmed.
Romano announced the development on X, writing:
“EXCLUSIVE: Udinese have reached a verbal agreement with David Alaba!
“Austrian star, a dream signing for the Italian club with a verbal agreement in place with former Real Madrid defender.
“Formal steps needed ahead of the here we go.”
Alaba, who has Nigerian heritage, is set to join Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye at Udinese if the move is completed.
Okoye joined the Serie A club in August 2023, signing a four-year contract.
