Kebbi State Hisbah Board operatives have apprehended 16-year-old Habibu Umar for the sexual assault of two girls, aged 5 and 6, in the Badariya area of Birni Kebbi. The arrest, made on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, followed a complaint by the victims’ families, as stated in an official Facebook post by the board.
The victims received prompt medical attention at a hospital, with medical reports confirming evidence of penetration on their private parts. Habibu admitted to the crime during the interrogation process.
The suspect has been handed over to the police for further questioning and investigation. Legal proceedings will follow after the completion of the investigation.
