Bandits have murdered the individual responsible for delivering a ransom in Kaduna.

In Kidandan village, situated in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, bandits have tragically taken the life of a villager responsible for delivering a ransom.

The victim, identified as Abdullahi Haruna, was a member of the First Aid of Fitiyanul Islam. He had volunteered to deliver the ransom in exchange for the release of a villager held captive by the bandits. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, around 2:00 p.m. at a location known as Sabo Layi Kidandan.

Confirming the incident, an anonymous vigilante member and a local youth leader named Jamil revealed that the bandits had demanded a ransom for one of their captives, and Abdullahi Haruna willingly undertook the task of delivering the money to them.

The sources detailed that the bandits attempted to forcibly take Abdullahi off his motorcycle after collecting the ransom, but he vehemently resisted, clarifying that his sole purpose was to deliver the ransom. Tragically, they resorted to violence, shooting him for his resistance, and this took place during daylight hours with witnesses present at Sabon Layi.

According to reports, Sabon Layi village serves as a central location for collecting ransoms related to many abductions in the vicinity.
