The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a temporary suspension of its company registration portal.

The commission disclosed this in a statement shared on its X account, following confirmation of a cyberattack on its database that affected millions of data records in Nigeria.

According to the CAC, the portal will be unavailable for three days, from April 17 to Monday, April 20.

The commission added that it is working closely with the National Information Technology Development Agency to address and mitigate the impact of the incident.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission has launched an investigation into the data breach, which began on Friday.

“To serve you better, we will be carrying out scheduled maintenance on our portal this weekend, from 12:00 midnight today, April 17, 2026, to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026.

“During this period, the portal may be temporarily unavailable,” the CAC stated.
