Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has accused former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, of demolishing his cement plant twice during his tenure. Dangote made the statement during a meeting with the current Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Monday, March 17, 2025.

According to a release from the Ogun State Government, the meeting between Dangote and Governor Abiodun focused on expanding investment opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and energy in the state. However, a video that surfaced on social media captured Dangote recounting his experience with the Amosun administration. He claimed that his cement factory was demolished twice during its construction.

Dangote explained, “I want to make it clear that the factory we’re now visiting in Itori exists because of His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun. The factory was demolished twice. We began construction, and Amosun demolished it. We started again, and he demolished not just the factory, but also the fencing. We had to leave. But now, we’re back because of my brother, Prince Dapo Abiodun. When you see the factory, you’ll be amazed.”
