Aisha Wahab, the young woman who was kidnapped in Auchi, Edo State, has been released after spending several weeks in captivity.
Aisha was abducted last Saturday at Igbira Camp in Auchi by unknown gunmen, who reportedly took her into the forest.
During her captivity, videos circulated on social media showing Aisha appealing to her family and friends to raise the N20 million ransom demanded by her abductors. The kidnappers had threatened to kill her if the ransom was not paid by Friday, October 24.
Isreal DMW, who had been providing updates on her case, confirmed her release and stated that the N20 million ransom was paid prior to her freedom.
