Police authorities in Ebonyi State have confirmed the kidnapping of Blessing Adagba, the Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
The abduction, which took place around midnight on Thursday, has sparked widespread concern in the community.
Police spokesperson SP Joshua Ukandu confirmed that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad has been mobilized and is working diligently to secure Adagba’s release. According to reports, the incident occurred in the Okposhi Eheku community when armed men, posing as soldiers, stormed the coordinator’s home.
“Around 12 a.m., a group of men disguised as soldiers forced their way into Hon. Blessing Adagba’s residence. They demanded she open the door, but she questioned why soldiers would arrive at such an odd hour,” a source told Channels Television. “The kidnappers, armed with firearms, overpowered the coordinator and took her to an unknown location.”
Residents and security forces in Ohaukwu are said to be collaborating in ongoing efforts to secure Adagba’s safe return. The incident has led local leaders to call for swift action.
Community members are increasingly alarmed by the growing frequency of kidnapping incidents in the area, urging both state and federal authorities to enhance security measures and restore public confidence.
