Gunmen abduct newly inducted medical radiographer, demand ₦200 million ransom

Gunmen have abducted Basheerah Ojedeyi, a newly inducted medical radiographer and graduate of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS).

She was kidnapped in Niger State on the evening of Monday, September 29, 2025, while returning home from her induction ceremony.

According to reports, the abductors have contacted her family, demanding a ransom of ₦200 million for her release. Efforts to negotiate and re-establish communication are ongoing, but her exact whereabouts and condition remain unknown.

Security agencies have been alerted and are actively investigating the incident.

Ojedeyi’s abduction has sparked widespread concern among her family, colleagues, and the broader healthcare community. Many have taken to social media to call on authorities and security operatives to act swiftly to secure her safe return.
