Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved the immediate suspension of the state’s Commissioner for Health, Yunusa Musa Ismail.
The suspension follows the circulation of several viral videos exposing the poor conditions of hospitals across the state.
In a statement released on Thursday, September 11, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, explained that the suspension came after the governor directed the Commissioner to submit a detailed explanation regarding allegations of negligence and failure to fulfill his official duties. The suspension will remain in effect until further notice.
