The Kano State Hisbah Board has apprehended 26 individuals at Grace Palace Hotel, located near Bukabu Barrack in Kano metropolis, over alleged involvement in immoral activities.
Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, the board’s Deputy Commander General, confirmed the arrests in an interview with Punch on Monday, August 4, 2025.
He stated that the suspects, consisting of 14 females and 12 males, were detained on Saturday following multiple complaints from members of the public regarding illegal activities taking place at the hotel.
“The 26 persons were arrested during an operation at Grace Palace Hotel near Bukabu Barrack in Kano metropolis,” Aminuddeen said.
He also expressed gratitude to the military authorities and their commander for their cooperation, which helped ensure the success of the operation.
During the raid, many of the suspects were found intoxicated, and several cartons of assorted wine were confiscated.
“We urge the public to continue reporting such immoral activities, whether in hotels or private residences, so that prompt action can be taken,” Aminuddeen appealed.
He added that this operation would be ongoing, aiming to apprehend offenders and promote moral cleanliness across the state.
