Indian authorities have apprehended two Nigerian women in possession of narcotics valued at N63 million.

In Rajasthan, India, two Nigerian women, Adaeze Jaye, aged 43, and Success Chamika, aged 23, were arrested with drugs valued at over N63 million. The Pushkar police apprehended both women late on Friday, October 27, 2023, and confiscated a total of 65 grams of Mephedrone (MD) and a cash amount of Rs 65,000.

According to a police statement released on Saturday, in addition to the drugs and cash, a digital weighing machine was also seized from the suspects. The estimated worth of the confiscated drugs is approximately Rs 6 lakh. Police station in-charge, Rakesh Yadav, mentioned that a case has been registered against both individuals under the NDPS Act, and investigations have commenced.

Yadav further noted that higher-ranking officials and the control room had been informed about the arrest.
