The Kano State High Court, under the leadership of Justice Nasir Saminu, sentenced Abdurrahman Yakubu to death by hanging for armed robbery on Wednesday.
Yakubu, from Bele Local Government Area in Nassarawa State, was convicted on multiple counts of armed robbery involving dangerous weapons.
One of his victims was Barrister Hajara Lawal Ahmad, from whom he stole a car and an undisclosed amount of money.
Justice Saminu stated that the prosecution, led by Barrister Umar Yakubu, successfully proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt, dismissing the defense presented by Yakubu.
The court also ruled that the firearms recovered from Yakubu were illegal and used for criminal activities, leading to his sentence of execution by hanging.
