The Lagos State Police Command has successfully arrested a 23-year-old suspected cultist, Rafiu Odeyemi, and has confiscated a firearm during the operation.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this announcement in a statement released on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Hundeyin revealed, “Rafiu Odeyemi, aged 23, and his accomplices, suspected cultists, launched an attack on a residential estate in Lagos in retaliation for a previous assault on their group by a rival cult. The residents of the estate took a stand and managed to apprehend Rafiu along with his firearm, while the others managed to evade arrest.”
He commended the residents of the estate for choosing not to take matters into their own hands but, instead, promptly handing over the suspect to the police. Hundeyin added, “The suspect will face charges upon the completion of the investigation.”
