Military forces apprehend two kidnappers and successfully rescue victims in Taraba.

Troops from the 6 Brigade Garrison of the Nigerian Army have apprehended two kidnappers and successfully rescued victims in Jalingo, Taraba State.

Brigadier General Frank Etim, the Brigade Commander, revealed this in a statement on Monday, November 27, 2023, noting that other kidnappers fled upon encountering the troops.

According to the statement, one of the rescued victims has been reunited with their family, while the other is currently receiving essential medical attention.

The statement read, “Troops of 6 Brigade Garrison Nigerian Army on Anti-kidnapping Patrol, have, in a display of gallantry, captured 2 kidnappers and successfully rescued the victims around CBN-BABAYA-U in Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State.”

“This achievement occurred in the early hours of Sunday, November 26, 2023, when the troops, acting on credible information, conducted a rescue operation on terrorists hiding and operating in the state metropolis.”

“The swift response and raid operation on the terrorists’ hideout led to the capture of Mr. Awwal Bobo, 32, and Mr. Sallau Abdul, 33, as well as the extrication and safe rescue of the victims named Mrs. Fauziyya Yusuf and Mr. Abdulsallam Abubakar.”

“During the process, two kidnappers were arrested, while others fled upon spotting the troops. The troops are on their trail and will soon be apprehended.”

“One of the rescued victims has already been reunited with their family, and the other is currently receiving necessary medical attention and support to ensure their physical and emotional well-being before being handed over to their family.”

“Meanwhile, Brigadier General Frank Etim, the Commander of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, commended the timely response of the troops. He urged them not to relent in ensuring the peace and safety of the citizens.”

“He further encouraged citizens to consistently cooperate and support the security agencies by providing timely security information to enhance the prompt response of the troops to security issues.”
