Former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly agreed personal terms with Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor over a proposed two-year contract.
According to FootballTransfers, Turkish transfer journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu revealed that the Egyptian international has reached an agreement with Trabzonspor, although the move has not yet been finalized.
The report stated that one outstanding contractual clause still needs to be resolved before the transfer can be completed.
Salah has been a free agent since leaving Liverpool earlier this summer, bringing an end to a memorable nine-year spell at Anfield during which he cemented his status as one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.
The 34-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs in recent months. He was previously linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, while Major League Soccer sides San Diego FC and Sporting Kansas City were also reportedly monitoring his situation. However, recent reports indicate the Egyptian prefers to continue his career in Europe.
Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season, have strengthened their squad ahead of their UEFA Europa League playoff campaign later this month.
Despite the growing speculation, questions remain over the transfer. Only a few days ago, Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan dismissed reports suggesting the club had already reached an agreement with Salah.
Meanwhile, the former Liverpool star was recently spotted relaxing at a beach club in Psarrou, Mykonos, in footage shared by Mykonos Live TV, as speculation over his next club continues.
With his future still unresolved following the expiration of his Liverpool contract, reports claim that three clubs across two countries remain in the race for Salah’s signature.
