New details have emerged surrounding the death of British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, popularly known as Denisi or Ego, who reportedly died after undergoing a penis enlargement procedure during a luxury trip to Thailand with his wife.
Ubiribo, 43, reportedly had about 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis at a clinic in Bangkok in March, according to proceedings at the Inner West London Coroners’ Court.
Following the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, reportedly went for a massage. During the session, he complained of chest pain and collapsed twice.
He was subsequently rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors reportedly diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism, a potentially life-threatening condition caused by a blood clot blocking an artery in the lungs.
Medical personnel reportedly performed CPR on him for more than 100 minutes, but he died in the early hours of March 6.
A postmortem examination conducted in the UK reportedly found cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the cosmetic procedure.
Following the inquest, coroner Jean Harkin ruled that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by complications arising from the cosmetic procedure.
Ubiribo, who had about 185,000 followers on Instagram, was known for his lavish lifestyle and luxury experiences.
He was later buried in London in a reported $745,000 gold coffin, with Nigerian celebrities including Davido and Cubana Chief Priest among those who attended his funeral.
