The Nigerian Movie industry is mourning the loss of Musiliu Ajikanle, the acclaimed Yoruba film star affectionately known as Buffalo. He passed away on Monday, July 31, after a prolonged battle with a stroke. The sad news was announced by Saliu Gbolagade, also known as Ogboluke, a fellow Yoruba actor.
Saliu Gbolagade expressed his condolences, writing, “Ina Lilah Waina Allah Rajiun. God gave each of us the gift of life, and God gifted us with eternal life. Rest well, my dear friend Musiliu Ajikanle. Your footsteps can never be filled, nor your love ever forgotten. May the blessings of a good life lived follow you into heaven.”
Earlier in January 2021, Ajikanle made an emotional plea on Instagram, seeking financial assistance from Nigerians at home and abroad to support his medical treatment for the stroke. He was well known for his remarkable role in the Yoruba film titled ‘Olokiki Oru: The Midnight Sensation,’ which was released in 2019.
May his soul rest in peace, Amen.
