The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command has apprehended Afolabi Ojo for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl.
The suspect was apprehended following a report by the mother of the child at the NSCDC Command in Ado-Ekiti.
According to the mother, the assault occurred on Olujoda Street.
During interrogation, the young girl disclosed that the suspect had forcibly removed her underwear and sexually assaulted her in late April.
Furthermore, the girl’s mother confirmed that her daughter had confided in her about the incident.
However, the suspect denied all accusations, asserting that he was falsely accused.
The spokesperson of NSCDC in the state, Tolu Afolabi, verified that a medical examination had been conducted on the girl.
Afolabi disclosed that the medical report confirmed the rupture of the young girl’s hymen.
He added that the command had launched an investigation into the matter.
