Shettima made the remarks at an event in Abuja on Monday, October 26, while defending the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The Vice President said the current administration was taking difficult but necessary decisions to revive the economy. However, he questioned Obi’s proposed solutions to the country’s economic challenges.
Despite his criticism, Shettima acknowledged Obi’s position on fuel subsidy, saying he respected the former Anambra State governor for openly stating that he would not restore the subsidy if elected president.
“I respect Peter Obi for having the courage to say he’s not going to restore the petrol subsidy, but beyond spouting some statistics, Mr Peter Obi has absolutely nothing to offer,” he said.
