The Senate has officially endorsed the appointment of Malam Musa Aliyu as the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). This confirmation followed the presentation of a motion by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC-Ekiti), during a session of the Committee of the Whole on Thursday, October 26. Bamidele, in his proposal, called on the Senate to deliberate on President Bola Tinubu’s request to validate Aliyu’s appointment as ICPC Chairman, as per the provisions of Section 3 (6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Establishment Act, 2000.

In addition to this, he also urged the Senate to consider Tinubu’s request for the confirmation of Mr. Saka Suleiman and Prof. Gaji Dantata as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.
