In a viral video circulating online, the family spokesperson firmly rejected plans to bury the late musician in a cemetery, warning his widow, Elizabeth, and her supporters that the family would take matters into its own hands if their demands were ignored.
According to the representative, the family insists that Toluwanisings must be laid to rest at his family home, preferably beside the grave of his late mother. He warned that if the singer is buried in a cemetery, relatives would open the grave, retrieve his remains and transport them back to the family compound for burial.
“We have all decided in the family that Toluwanisings must not be buried in the cemetery,” the representative declared in the video.
He further stated: “For this reason, they should bring him back home. If you people decide to bury him in the cemetery, we will remove him from there. I am speaking on behalf of all the family members.
“So don’t ever bury him there, if not, we will open the grave to remove him and bring him back home to bury beside his mother’s grave.
“If you say you can’t bury him in his house that he built, we don’t know your reasons and we don’t even care to know. Just bring him home. He has a father’s compound; we will bury him beside his mother’s grave.”
The dispute centres on a disagreement between the musician’s family and his widow over where he should be laid to rest following his death on October 14, 2026.
The family initially maintained that Toluwanisings should be buried at the house he built in Ibadan. However, his widow, Elizabeth, reportedly opposed the arrangement, citing the emotional burden of living on the property where her late husband would be buried.
With the disagreement persisting, the family has proposed an alternative location: the ancestral family compound, where the singer would be buried beside his late mother.
The latest threat has further heightened tensions surrounding the burial arrangements, leaving the question of Toluwanisings’ final resting place at the centre of the ongoing family dispute.
