X Suffers Global Outage, Millions Unable to Access Platform

Microblogging platform X has experienced a widespread outage, preventing millions of users in several countries from accessing posts.

The disruption was first reported by users in the United Kingdom before spreading to other regions. In Nigeria, users began noticing access issues shortly after 1 p.m. Similar complaints emerged in the United States, where more than 42,000 users reported problems, while over 45,000 outage alerts were logged in Japan. Users in Canada, Australia, France, and Germany also experienced difficulties.

Many affected users said the website stalled on the X logo or displayed an error message stating, “Something went wrong. Try reloading.” On the mobile app, timelines either failed to refresh or appeared blank, although prompts encouraging subscriptions to X Premium remained visible.

The platform, owned by Elon Musk, has yet to provide an official explanation for the disruption.

Unlike several other major social media platforms, X does not maintain a public system status page. However, its developer portal indicated that all systems were operational at the time of the outage.

The incident is the latest in a string of service disruptions in recent months. Similar outages were recorded last month and late last year, including one attributed to network problems involving Cloudflare that affected numerous websites worldwide.
