Nigerian lawyer and immediate past Chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Rivers State Branch, Adata Bio-Briggs, has urged individuals in abusive relationships to leave, emphasizing that they do not need their partner’s consent to do so.
In a Facebook post shared on Sunday, she wrote:
“I have been saying this and will keep repeating it. You do not need the permission of an abusive spouse to move out. Just move.”
