French football icon Zinedine Zidane has reportedly agreed to become the new head coach of the France national team on a contract running until June 2030.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Tuesday, stating that the former Real Madrid manager has signed his contract and will be officially presented in the coming days.
“Zinedine Zidane has signed as the new France coach until June 2030. The story has been confirmed as Zizou will be unveiled as the new head coach in the next days — back to work with France,” Romano wrote.
If confirmed, Zidane will guide Les Bleus through the 2027 UEFA Nations League, UEFA Euro 2028, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The 54-year-old has been out of management since stepping down from Real Madrid in 2021 after his second stint with the Spanish club.
During his time at the Santiago Bernabéu, Zidane enjoyed remarkable success, winning three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles from 2016 to 2018, two La Liga championships, and several other domestic and international honours.
