The Edo State Police Command has assured citizens of their support and protection during the planned protests, as long as they are conducted peacefully.
This announcement was made by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye, during a press briefing on Wednesday evening.
CP Adegboye emphasized the right of citizens to protest, stating, “Police will protect and support them with sachet water and sweets. We have agreed that they will only occupy Kings Square, which is the venue of the protest.”
He also issued a stern warning to potential troublemakers, making it clear that any attempts to disrupt the peaceful demonstration would be met with decisive action. The CP’s statement underscores the commitment of the police to uphold the rights of citizens while maintaining law and order during the protest.
