A train crushed a 50-year-old man identified simply as Emmanuel to d@ath in the Oshodi area of Lagos State.
The incident happened near Arena Shopping Mall on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
The deceased’s sister informed the police that she received a phone call around 9 am alerting her that her older brother had been fatally struck by the moving train.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday. Hundeyin stated that Mosafejo Division of the command was notified of the incident around 1:33 pm. The police immediately dispatched a team of detectives to the scene.
The scene was visited and photographed by a team of detectives.
“The corpse was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy,” he said.
The PPRO added that the case had been transferred to the Railway Police Command in Ebute Metta for further investigation.
