The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has called off its nationwide strike following a dispute with the Dangote Group.

The union had initiated the strike on Monday to protest the Dangote Group’s refusal to permit its workers to join NUPENG.

The strike was suspended after both parties reached an agreement at a meeting organized by the Department of State Services (DSS), which was attended by the Ministers of Labour and Finance, Dangote Group representatives, and officials from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
