A 71-year-old man from North Yorkshire with a long history of sexual offences has been sentenced to eight months in prison after breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) by printing explicit images at a local pharmacy.
Robin Jackson was caught by a staff member at Boots in Guisborough on August 26, 2025, while printing pornographic images of young men. The staff promptly alerted the police, leading to his arrest. Jackson, who is prohibited from accessing any pornographic material under the terms of the SHPO, later handed over the images to officers voluntarily.
Prosecutor Reece Williams told the court that the images featured men of legal age. A subsequent search of Jackson’s mobile phone also revealed that he had accessed multiple adult websites, further violating the conditions of his order.
Jackson appeared for sentencing via video link from prison at Teesside Crown Court on September 24, having already spent four weeks in custody. He had earlier pleaded guilty at a magistrates’ court.
Defence counsel Michele Turner noted that Jackson fully cooperated with authorities, handing over all relevant materials and consenting to a search of his phone without hesitation.
The court was told that Jackson has more than 70 prior offences on his record, dating back to the 1970s, including convictions for indecent exposure, possession of indecent images, and sexual assault. He has previously breached similar court orders, including during the COVID-19 lockdown, when he confessed to accessing adult content and seeking explicit material involving males.
At the time, Judge Howard Crowson remarked that Jackson posed a “significant risk to young males” due to his long-standing pattern of offending.
Jackson’s latest conviction reinforces the importance of court-imposed restrictions designed to protect the public from repeat offenders, particularly those with a history of sexual misconduct.
