
More than 6.2 million Nigerians have completed their online pre-registration for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), according to new data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Figures published on INEC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle show that a total of 6,232,673 pre-registrations were recorded between September 22 and 28, 2025. Of this number, 3,250,338 (52.15%) were female, while 2,982,335 (47.85%) were male.
Young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 34 made up the majority, accounting for 4,230,715 of the total registrants. The data also includes 1,565,824 students and 137,865 persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Between September 22 and 26 alone, INEC recorded 1,004,132 completed registrations, combining both online and physical processes. Out of this, 537,743 registrations were completed online, while 466,389 were done in person.
Of those who completed registration during this five-day period, 555,077 were women (55.28%) and 449,055 men (44.72%). Youths accounted for 742,379 of the registrations, with 354,406 students and 13,987 PWDs included.
INEC launched the current phase of the CVR on August 18, 2025, as part of preparations for upcoming elections.
