Nigeria’s Super Eagles will train behind closed doors on Thursday and Friday as they step up preparations for their second-round match against Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed the arrangement, explaining that head coach Eric Chelle requested private sessions to enable the players prepare without distractions.

Efoghe noted that Chelle believes the closed training will help the squad maintain full concentration while fine-tuning tactics ahead of the encounter.

Nigeria progressed from Group C with a flawless record, finishing top with nine points after wins over Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.

The Super Eagles will now face Mozambique, who reached the knockout stage as one of the tournament’s best third-placed teams.

The clash will be the second AFCON meeting between both sides. Their first came at the 2010 edition in Angola, where Nigeria recorded a comfortable 3–0 group-stage victory.
