FC Barcelona clinched the La Liga title in thrilling style after defeating fierce rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico, sealing the championship with three games remaining.

Barcelona went into the match with an 11-point advantage over Madrid, meaning a draw would have been enough to confirm them as champions. Instead, they delivered a commanding 2-0 victory in front of their home fans.

The hosts took the lead after just nine minutes when Marcus Rashford curled a brilliant free-kick beyond Thibaut Courtois. The England forward, currently on loan from Manchester United, produced one of his standout moments since arriving in Spain, sending the ball into the top corner and sparking celebrations around the Nou Camp.

Barcelona doubled their advantage in the 18th minute through Ferran Torres, who finished calmly after exploiting space in Madrid’s defence. The visitors struggled throughout and were missing star forward Kylian Mbappé, who was reportedly sidelined with a muscle injury.

Jude Bellingham thought he had reduced the deficit midway through the second half after converting from close range, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Tempers also flared when Trent Alexander-Arnold shoved Raphinha during a heated moment, prompting a brief confrontation involving Vinícius Júnior before calm was restored.

Barcelona’s injured teenage star Lamine Yamal later joined the celebrations on the pitch as supporters marked another league triumph. The title win also capped an impressive debut season for manager Hansi Flick in charge of the Catalan giants.
