Three members of a commercial motorcycle riders’ union have reportedly been abducted by suspected bandits in Kogi State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, along the Ageva–Magongo road.

The victims were identified as Mr. Jonathan Stephen Monday, chairman of the union’s Ogori branch, Mr. Ashemadaun Eben, and Mr. Mosigbodi Jethro Adoga.

According to eyewitnesses, the victims were among a delegation of union members who travelled to Lokoja for a solidarity rally organised in support of the 2027 re-election campaigns of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Sources said the victims were returning from the event when armed bandits attacked the bus conveying them along the Ageva–Magongo route, an area that has recently witnessed increasing cases of insecurity and attacks on travellers.

The abduction has heightened tension among residents and commercial motorcycle operators in the area, with calls for security agencies and the Kogi State Government to strengthen security along the route and secure the release of the kidnapped victims.
