Nigerian singer BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has said that Lagos is more expensive to live in than Los Angeles, California.
The artist, who recently confirmed his relocation to the United States, made the claim during a TikTok livestream where he compared everyday life in both cities.
According to him, one noticeable difference since moving to the U.S. is that people do not frequently approach him for financial assistance, despite the economic struggles many residents still face.
“I was telling someone, since I got to the United States, nobody has asked me to give them money. And people are also suffering here,” he said.
BNXN argued that the cost of living in Lagos is higher in several respects than in Los Angeles.
“Lagos is super expensive. It is more expensive than Los Angeles. Aside from housing, every other thing in LA is not expensive. For instance, I am paying $12,000 monthly for my rent. Here you just pay your rent, and you’re good,” he added.
