Suspected kidnappers who abducted Mrs. Morenike Falona, the wife of an Irele-based motorcycle dealer, have reportedly demanded N100 million ransom for her release.

The 35-year-old businesswoman was kidnapped from her residence in Ode-Irele, the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, on the night of Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the presence of her family members.

A source close to the family disclosed that the abductors established contact about 48 hours after the incident and demanded N100 million for her freedom. According to the source, the kidnappers reached out to a family member at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thursday to communicate their demand.

Confirming the abduction, the Ondo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Mr. Abayomi Jimoh, said the police were unaware of any negotiations between the victim’s family and the suspected kidnappers.

Jimoh, however, assured that security agencies were intensifying efforts to secure the victim’s release. He said intelligence-led operations were being carried out in collaboration with other security agencies and local security outfits to ensure Mrs. Falona is rescued safely and unharmed.

The police spokesperson also stated that he had no information regarding any contact between the abductors and the family, expressing confidence that the victim would be rescued without the payment of ransom.
