President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage to the holy city.
In a statement, the President’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, said the visit would provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection and devotion, as well as prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
Onanuga added that the President would perform the religious rites associated with Umrah while seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.
Before departing the country, Tinubu is expected to commission equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
