Hotel Employee Steals Eight Refrigerators, Sells Three to Scrap Dealer in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Elijah Ahmed for allegedly stealing eight refrigerators from a hotel where he worked.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement issued over the weekend, noting that five of the stolen refrigerators were recovered from the suspect.

According to the police, Ahmed had sold the remaining three refrigerators to a scrap dealer, who is currently at large.

“Following a complaint, Elijah Ahmed of Tunga, Abdulsalam Motor Park area, was arrested by police operatives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division for allegedly stealing eight refrigerators from a hotel where he works,” Abiodun stated.

“During the investigation, five of the refrigerators were recovered from him, while he had sold the other three to a scrap dealer in the area, who is currently at large.

“The suspect has been charged to court for prosecution.”
