Nigerian traditional spiritualist KingLade has alleged that Christian pastors and Islamic clerics are among the major clients of babalawos, claiming that some religious leaders secretly seek spiritual assistance from traditional practitioners.

KingLade made the claims during an appearance on the ClarityZone Podcast, where he alleged that some clergymen and Islamic clerics engage the services of babalawos despite their public religious affiliations.

“There are two key customers of a babalawo, and those are the clergymen and the Islamic clerics,” he said.

He further claimed that many shops selling materials used for traditional spiritual practices are operated by Yoruba Muslim women and frequently patronised by imams, Alfas, Wolis and pastors.

According to KingLade, some pastors allegedly consult babalawos for spiritual assistance before returning to their churches to publicly give glory to Jesus.

The traditional spiritualist, who disclosed that he was raised in a Christian home by a pastor and a deaconess, also criticised churches and their leaders, making sweeping allegations about their activities.

“Every church is a fraud syndicate. They all know what they are doing. Every pastor is a fraud,” he declared.

However, KingLade did not provide evidence to substantiate his allegations that such practices are widespread among Christian and Islamic religious leaders.
