In an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, FCT, businessman Nasiru Yunusa stated that he would consider granting his wife, Aisha Hamisu, a divorce if she pays him N1 million.
Yunusa and Hamisu entered into marriage according to Islamic law in 2021 and have a 13-month-old daughter together. Hamisu approached the court, seeking the dissolution of their marriage, citing lack of care and respect as grounds for the request.
She explained that Yunusa had moved her belongings from his house to her father’s residence on April 19, 2022. Additionally, she claimed that Yunusa did not contribute financially to her Cesarean section at Kubwa General Hospital for the birth of their daughter, and she expressed her willingness to repay him the dowry of N50,000.
The Judge, Mr. Mohammed Wakili, adjourned the case until January 8, 2024, for the continuation of the hearing.
