Actor Pierce Brosnan has accepted a plea deal in his illegal hiking case in Idaho, shortly after initially pleading not guilty two months ago.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Brosnan pleaded guilty to one of the two illegal hiking charges against him.

The charges stemmed from an incident in November 2023 when he allegedly wandered into a sensitive hot spring area at Yellowstone National Park. As part of the plea deal, the other charge was dismissed. Brosnan’s guilty plea resulted in approximately $1,540 in fines and additional court costs.

The actor found himself in court after sharing photos from a restricted area within the park, areas that are closed to tourists for the safety of both the springs and hikers. These photos were later shared on TouronsOfYellowstone, an Instagram page that highlights tourists breaking hiking rules in the scenic national park.

Brosnan was potentially facing a fine of up to $5,000 or even six months of jail time if found guilty.
