After completing a 58-hour hand wash-a-thon, Subair Enitan, a 200-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has been admitted to the hospital.

Enitan initiated the challenge on Friday afternoon, November 24, at the Student Union Building Motor Park within the university campus, with a large gathering of students offering their support. Her goal was to establish a record for the longest individual hand cloth washing, having applied to the Guinness World Records for this achievement in June. Throughout the challenge, various students, artists, and university officials visited the pavilion to express solidarity and cheer her on. Enitan exceeded her initial plan of 50 hours, completing the 58-hour marathon on Monday. Following this feat, she was transported to the institution’s clinic in the school ambulance for a medical examination.

Before heading to the clinic, Enitan expressed her satisfaction at accomplishing the task in the presence of her mother, Omogbolabo Afolake, who had been at the venue for over two days. She stated, “I am very fulfilled to have completed the task right in front of my mum, friends, and colleagues who thronged this venue to show love and support for my ambition.”
