The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was announced by Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Hope Uzodimma, during the APC summit held in Abuja on Thursday, May 22.
Speaking on behalf of the APC governors, Uzodimma said the unanimous decision reflects the party’s belief in President Tinubu’s leadership and its impact on Nigeria’s development.
“For Nigeria to reach its full potential and achieve lasting prosperity, we believe President Tinubu should continue in office. We therefore adopt him as our flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election,” he stated.
The motion was seconded by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who reaffirmed the governors’ collective support.
“I proudly second the motion moved by our chairman, Governor Hope Uzodimma, that this distinguished gathering passes a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC’s sole candidate for 2027,” Sani said.
This endorsement comes a day after APC governors from the North-Central geopolitical zone passed a separate vote of confidence in President Tinubu’s administration, further solidifying support for his second-term bid within the party.
