Assailants claim the lives of 33 individuals in Taraba communities.

Reports indicate that a minimum of 33 individuals, comprising both herders and farmers, lost their lives in assaults on three villages within the Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.

According to information from Daily Trust, Garbatau village witnessed 21 fatalities, Ganfeto recorded 10, and Hawan Mata reported two casualties, all occurring within the same local government. The motives behind these attacks, which commenced on Sunday, December 3, 2023, remain unclear.

Residents revealed that the violence prompted the mass exodus of hundreds of individuals, including herders, along with their livestock, to seek refuge in neighboring Adamawa State. Additionally, numerous cows were reportedly rustled, and over thirty motorcycles owned by the victims were seized.
