Suspected bandits have abducted ten villagers from three remote communities in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attacks took place in the early hours of Wednesday, March 12, 2025, around 2 a.m. when a group of armed bandits raided the Unguwan Yashi-Maraban Kajuru community and kidnapped six individuals.

The victims include God-Dream Ladan, Lady God-Dream, Philip Mudakas, Mercy Philip, Bitrus Philip, and Gmen Philip.

In a similar attack in Makyali village, two people were shot and wounded, and are currently receiving medical treatment at Maraban Kajuru Hospital. The bandits also abducted two women, Rahina Yahaya and Zulai Yahaya. The injured victims were identified as Ubale Yahaya and Abdullahi.

The same group of bandits later moved to Ungwan Mudi Doka around 4 a.m., where they kidnapped two more individuals, Amos Michael and Samita Amos.

Stephen Maikori, the Acting District Head of Kufana, confirmed the attacks to Daily Trust on Thursday, noting that while such incidents had decreased in recent times, they had resurfaced this week.

“So far, ten people have been abducted, and two others are injured and receiving treatment. We are calling for a stronger and more rapid security response to protect lives and property in this area,” he said.

He also mentioned that the incident had been reported to the relevant security agencies.
