Barcelona Women Suffer Home Defeat for the First Time Since 2019

Barcelona Women’s impressive unbeaten home record in the league came to an end on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to Levante.

This marks their first home league defeat since February 2019, when they were beaten by Huesca.

Despite the setback, Barcelona remains firmly at the top of the Liga F standings, holding an eight-point lead over second-place Real Madrid. As reigning Spanish and European champions, they’ve been dominant this season, with this only their second loss across all competitions. Their previous defeat came in October, a 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League.

The defeat to Levante is a rare slip-up for Barcelona, whose high standards of excellence have made this loss a surprising moment in what has otherwise been a strong season.
