Alvaro Morata has made a surprise loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray from AC Milan for £5 million. The Spanish national team captain has joined the reigning Super Lig champions until January 2026, with an option for a permanent transfer.

Galatasaray confirmed the deal on their website, stating that an agreement had been reached with AC Milan.

Morata will earn a guaranteed salary of €3 million for the second half of the 2024-25 season and another €3 million for the first half of the 2025-26 campaign. The loan deal is set to run until January 20, 2026, with Galatasaray having the option to buy or extend the arrangement.

Should the club choose to activate the option, Morata’s contract will see him earn €6 million for both the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

The transfer comes shortly after Morata and his wife, Italian influencer Alice Campello, revealed they have reconciled following a split five months ago.
